Troubleshooting
Reddit thread cannot be accessed
Why some threads can't be read, and what to try. If we can't read a thread, no credit is used.
If you see "Couldn't read this thread", "Thread unavailable" or "Can't comment here", ThreadMention couldn't analyze that link, and no credit was used.
Note: a thread that is locked or archived can sometimes still be read. Before analyzing a Reddit thread, check that it still accepts comments. Reddit may allow a locked or archived thread to be read even when new replies are disabled. If ThreadMention completes the analysis, it uses one credit.
Common reasons:
- the post was removed by moderators or deleted by its author,
- the subreddit is private or restricted,
- the link points to a subreddit, profile or search page rather than a post,
- the link is a Share-button short link (
/r/name/s/abc123), - Reddit was temporarily unreachable.
What to try:
- Open the link in a private browser window. If you can't see the post there, ThreadMention can't either.
- Make sure the link contains
/comments/. Open the post and copy the link from your browser's address bar. - If the post is visible and open, wait a few minutes and try again.
Still stuck? Email hello@threadmention.com from the address on your account.
