The product

What exactly does ThreadMention do?

You paste a Reddit thread link. ThreadMention reads the post and its top comments, compares them with your brand, and gives a verdict: good, weak or skip, with a reason. For good and weak threads it also typically gives you 2 to 3 draft starting points and 3 to 5 talking points. You rewrite the draft in your own words and post it yourself.

Does ThreadMention post to Reddit for me?

No. ThreadMention never posts, comments, votes or messages on Reddit, and it never connects to your Reddit account. You decide what to post and you post it yourself.

Is this a Reddit automation tool?

No. It's a judgment and drafting assistant. There's no scheduling, no bulk posting, no multiple accounts and no auto-replies. Generic or automated comments can be removed as spam and may put an account at risk, and they're exactly the content Reddit communities distrust, so we don't build automated posting.

Can I use it for lead generation?

You can use it to take part in conversations where your product is genuinely relevant, which can lead to people discovering you. But ThreadMention isn't a lead-generation system: it doesn't find prospects, collect contact details or track conversions, and it won't help you pitch people who didn't ask.

Which Reddit links should I analyze?

Start with the Reddit threads AI assistants already cite for your topics. Start with your GEO tool's citation report, for example, OtterlyAI, or Reddit threads you find yourself. OtterlyAI is an example only; ThreadMention is not affiliated with or endorsed by OtterlyAI. Any GEO or AI-visibility tool works, and you don't need one. A citations or sources report shows which Reddit threads ChatGPT, Perplexity and others use when they answer the questions you track. Filter to reddit.com, copy the thread links and paste them in. Those are conversations AI tools already read. No GEO tool? Search Reddit for the questions your customers ask, or note which Reddit threads come up when you ask Google or an AI assistant. More in Which Reddit threads should I analyze?.

Does ThreadMention find threads for me?

No. You bring the links, for example from a GEO tool's citations report or your own Reddit searches (see the question above), and ThreadMention tells you which ones are worth replying to and how.

Verdicts

What makes a thread a good fit?

Someone is asking for a recommendation, comparing options in your space, or describing a problem you solve, in a community that's open to genuine input. A good verdict means a helpful reply that mentions your brand naturally would likely be welcome.

What does weak mean?

There's a loose fit: your brand could be relevant, but the connection is thin or the thread is mostly about something else. You still get drafts. Only post if you can add something clearly useful; often the best reply barely mentions your brand.

Why did I get skip?

Usually because a reply mentioning your brand would look forced or break the community's norms: the brand isn't relevant enough, the comments show promotion isn't welcome, or the thread is a joke or an argument. ThreadMention judges from the post and its top comments; it doesn't read the subreddit's rules page, so check those yourself. The reason on the card tells you which. If skips look wrong for threads that clearly fit, sharpen your brand's positioning. See Unexpected verdict.

Credits

Why does skip use a credit?

Because a skip is a completed analysis. ThreadMention does the same work to decide "don't post here" as it does to decide "post here", and knowing where not to post is one of the most valuable things it does: commenting everywhere is how accounts end up looking like spam.

Do failed analyses cost a credit?

No. If we can't read a thread (removed, deleted, private or detected as not in English), the link isn't a Reddit post, or the analysis doesn't finish on our side, no credit is used. The card tells you so. One exception to know about: locked or archived threads. Before analyzing a Reddit thread, check that it still accepts comments. Reddit may allow a locked or archived thread to be read even when new replies are disabled. If ThreadMention completes the analysis, it uses one credit.

How many brands can I create?

Each account currently includes one brand, on the trial and on paid packs. You can edit it at any time, or delete it and create another. If you need more than one, email hello@threadmention.com.

How long do credits last?

Trial credits last 30 days from signup. Purchased credits last 12 months from the date of purchase.

Do purchased credits roll over?

There's no monthly reset, so nothing needs to roll over: unused purchased credits stay in your balance for 12 months from the purchase date. Each purchase keeps its own expiry date. Buying another pack adds credits with their own 12 months, and doesn't extend or shorten the credits you already have. The credits expiring soonest are used first.

How much does it cost?

You start with 5 free trial credits, no card needed. After that, prepaid packs: Starter 50 credits for €29, Growth 200 credits for €79, Scale 500 credits for €169. No subscription. One credit is one completed thread analysis.

Does analyzing the same thread again cost another credit?

Yes. Each completed analysis uses one credit, even for a thread you analyzed before. Drafts from earlier analyses are saved in My drafts.

Using it

Do I need a Reddit account?

Not to use ThreadMention: you only need an email address. You'll need your own Reddit account to post your reply.

Can agencies use ThreadMention?

Agencies and consultants can use the same workflow: a reviewable verdict and draft for every thread before anything is posted. Note that each account currently includes one brand and is for one person. If you manage several clients or need team access, email hello@threadmention.com and tell us what you need.

Can I copy the suggested response exactly?

Technically yes, but we strongly advise against it. Drafts are starting points. They deliberately don't invent personal experience, and Reddit users and moderators quickly spot unedited AI text. Rewrite it in your own voice, add what you actually know, and disclose your connection to the brand.

Does it work in other languages?

English threads only for now. Threads detected as not in English aren't analyzed and don't use a credit.

Where can I see my past verdicts?

Drafts are saved in My drafts. Verdict reasons and talking points are shown on the Analyze threads page right after each analysis, but there's no history page for them yet, so copy anything you want to keep. Skips have no drafts and don't appear in My drafts.

Can my team share an account?

Each account is for one person, and there are no team seats yet. Everyone on your team can create their own account. If you need shared access, email hello@threadmention.com.

Is there an API or integrations?

Not at launch. ThreadMention works in the browser at app.threadmention.com.

Results

Does ThreadMention guarantee that a comment will stay live?

No. Whether a comment stays up is decided by each community's moderators and by Reddit. ThreadMention helps you avoid the common reasons comments get removed (wrong community, forced promotion, unedited AI text), but nobody can guarantee it.

Does ThreadMention guarantee leads, traffic or AI citations?

No. ThreadMention is built to help you take part in the conversations that matter, in a way people (and the AI tools that read Reddit) are more likely to value. It doesn't guarantee leads, traffic, upvotes, rankings or citations, and anyone who promises those from Reddit comments is overselling.

Privacy and account

Is my data private?

What we collect, which providers process it and how deletion works are described in our Privacy Policy. For any privacy question or request, email hello@threadmention.com.

What happens if Reddit removes a thread?

If the thread is removed before you analyze it and we can't read it, no credit is used. If it's removed after, your saved drafts stay in My drafts, but there's nowhere to post them. The credit for a completed analysis isn't refunded automatically. See our Payment and Refund Policy.

How do refunds work?

If you haven't used any credits from a purchase, you can ask for a refund within 14 days of buying it. For partly used purchases we may decline or refund the unused part where possible. Duplicate or wrong charges are always corrected. Email hello@threadmention.com, and ask before deleting your account. Full details: Payment and Refund Policy.

How do I pay?

By card, in euros, through our payment provider PayHot. You enter your card details on PayHot's secure page; ThreadMention never sees your full card number.

Is my data used to train AI?

We send your brand context and the thread content to our AI provider to produce your analysis. The providers we use are listed in our Privacy Policy. For other data questions, email hello@threadmention.com.

Do prices include VAT? Can I get an invoice?

The price shown at checkout, in euros, is the price you pay. For invoice or tax questions, email hello@threadmention.com with your purchase date.

How do I contact support?

Email hello@threadmention.com from the address on your account. Include the thread link or payment date if it's relevant. You can also browse the Help Center.
