Getting started
Analyzing your first Reddit thread
How to paste threads, what happens while they're analyzed, and what you get back.
- Open Analyze threads from the sidebar.
- Paste the link to a Reddit post. A post link contains
/comments/, for examplehttps://www.reddit.com/r/SaaS/comments/abc123/which_tool_do_you_use/. You can paste up to 20 links, one per line. - Choose Analyze threads.
Each different link gets its own card. ThreadMention reads the post and its top comments, then returns a verdict with a reason. For good and weak threads you also get draft starting points and talking points.
If you paste the same post link more than once, even with different text after a ? or #, it gets one card. If you have fewer credits than threads that can be analyzed, ThreadMention analyzes as many as your credits cover, in the order you pasted them. The rest show Not analyzed: out of credits. They aren't queued or analyzed automatically later, so paste them again when you have credits. See How credits work.
You can open Show thread preview on a card to see a preview of the post and some of the comments used as context.
Before you paste
- Links to a subreddit, a user profile or a search page won't work. Use the link to the post itself.
- Threads we can't read because they've been removed, deleted or made private are not analyzed and cost nothing.
- Locked or archived threads can't be replied to. Before analyzing a Reddit thread, check that it still accepts comments. Reddit may allow a locked or archived thread to be read even when new replies are disabled. If ThreadMention completes the analysis, it uses one credit.
- ThreadMention works with English threads only for now. Threads detected as not in English are not analyzed and cost nothing.
See Which Reddit threads should I analyze? for where to find the best links. If an analysis doesn't finish, see Analysis failed for what each message means.
