Disclosure and authenticity
Be open about your connection to the brands you mention.
If you mention a product you work on, own, or are paid to promote, say so. A simple "I work on X, so I'm biased, but..." is enough.
Being open:
- is expected by most Reddit communities, and required by many subreddits' rules,
- may be required by advertising and consumer-protection laws where you or your audience are,
- makes your comment more credible, not less.
Never pretend to be an unrelated customer, and never post from accounts that hide who is behind them. You are responsible for the disclosure rules that apply to you.
Still stuck? Email hello@threadmention.com from the address on your account.
