Avoiding spam
What gets comments removed or accounts restricted, and how to stay clear of it.
Reddit and its moderators remove content that looks like spam, and generic or automated comments can be removed as spam and may put an account at risk. Things to avoid:
- posting the same or similar comment in many threads,
- commenting only to mention your product,
- using several accounts, or asking others to upvote you,
- posting in communities that don't allow promotion,
- pasting AI drafts without editing them,
- dropping links where nobody asked for one.
ThreadMention is built to help you avoid this: it recommends skip when your brand doesn't belong, and its drafts are starting points to rewrite. Using ThreadMention to create spam or fake engagement is against our Terms of Service.
