Using ThreadMention
Editing responses before posting
Why you should never paste a draft as-is, and a quick checklist.
Every draft is a starting point. Reddit users and moderators are very good at spotting copy-pasted marketing, and an unedited AI draft is a common reason comments get removed or downvoted.
A 60-second checklist
- Is it true for you? Remove anything you haven't experienced or can't back up.
- Does it sound like you? Rewrite the first sentence in your own words. Use your usual phrasing.
- Does it answer the question? The first line should help the person who asked.
- Is the brand mention natural? Once, plainly, only if it helps. Sometimes it's better to leave it out.
- Are you open about your connection? If you work on the product you mention, say so. See Disclosure and authenticity.
- Does it follow the subreddit's rules? Some communities ban self-promotion or links entirely.
You can edit drafts directly in My drafts. Edited drafts show "edited" next to the date.
